Electric Car Subsidy in Australia (2022 Updated) | Ausloans

The Queensland government is offering a $3,000 subsidy for buyers of electric cars.
With unleaded petrol prices topping $2.20 a litre, it's hoped the cash will motivate some Queenslanders to make the switch for their state to reach its climate change goals.
The subsidy is part of the QLD government's zero-emission vehicle plan for 2022-2032. Applications will be available from July 1 for electric vehicles bought after March 16.
The $3,000 assistance is being offered to those buying an electric car up to the value of $58,000, and it is part of a $55 million commitment.
"We are going to make the cost of buying electric cars just that little bit cheaper," Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said.

Those eligible for the benefit have been advised to keep documents relating to the purchase of the electric car as they will be required for the application process. Applications should be made in the Department of Main Roads and Transport.
Additionally, the State Government has made a $10million commitment for new charging ports in the region.
Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey said this is an essential step towards making Queensland a global leader in the world's low-emissions future, and becoming a renewable energy superpower.
"We were the first Australian state to develop an EV strategy, and now we are once again leading the way with Queensland's Zero Emission Vehicle Strategy 2022-2032," he said.
"This will see Queenslanders get money back for switching to electric vehicles, and the Palaszczuk Government build more charging infrastructure across the Sunshine State.
"We revolutionised electric vehicle travel through the Queensland Electric Super Highway, which is currently being expanded to almost 3800km, and now Queenslanders will have even more charging stations to use.
"Not only does this encourage people to buy electric vehicles, but it also gives the automotive industry confidence to set up shop in Queensland.
